PowerBar was founded in 1986 in Berkeley, California. It started with the production of energy bars, later energy gels were added and today it already offers a wide range of nutritional supplements intended for professional as well as amateur athletes. Leading scientists in the field of sports and nutrition are involved in the development. All products are designed to best meet the nutritional and energy needs of athletes. In 1999, the PowerBar became a member of the Nestle family and only a year later became the official sponsor of the 2000 Summer Olympics.
